The terrific advantage of self hypnosis is that all you must have is a calm place to do it.
There are no weights, nutritional books, or other people required!

Of course, it always helps to consult a nutritionist to put together a healthy plan or to speak with a professional therapist to make sure you are doing it right!

Pro: An Established Self Help Product
Self Hypnosis has been successful at helping people stop lots of problems – everything from a fear of being in a plane to slimming down has been attempted and proven with some people.  There are literally thousands of individuals who have used self hypnosis to fulfill their wishes.  While the exact process of how or why it works is not understood, if you talk to someone that has been successful using self hypnosis for a problem, they’ll typically say that it was a final resort that was successful when nothing else they attempted worked out.  This is not only very common with weight loss self hypnosis, but also with quitting smoking or a variety of other ailments.

Disadvantages of Weight Loss Self Hypnosis

Disadvantage: No Scientific Studies Have Been Done
There have not been any formal clinical studies that have proven the effectiveness of using self hypnosis to lose weight.  Some scientists believe the reason it works is due to the placebo effect.  Anyway, it definitely seems that when one believe absolutely in its effectiveness, they see encouraging results.

However, some people have succeeded enormously from using self hypnosis to drop body weight.  After trying a number of diets, work outs, personal trainers, as well as other strategies that weren’t effective, those people look to hypnosis as a highly effective solution.

Con: Not Effective for Some People
Some individuals are way more susceptible to hypnosis than others.  If you have difficulty relaxing or entering an altered state of mind, try doing some visualizations or putting in a hypnosis soundtrack.  Meditation is excellent in assisting to relax your body and mind, focus on your breathing, and get into a relaxed mental state.
