Children hood Memory

In 1983, June 8, a sports family in Belgium had their first child. Father Leo gave the name Clijsters to his daughter, however, this name is obviously too long. Within 20 years people have called her nickname Kim. Leo is Belgian footballer and his wife Ayres is the country’s gymnastics queen, but they didn’t want daughter to step on the hard sports road like them. All parents’ wishes are same, and Leo said: “I only hope that she can grow up healthy and happy.

When Kim was 5 years old, she showed great interest on ball games. Her first experience on TV was sitting at the knee of father Leo to accept footballer award. As reward, Kim asked our father to build a tennis court for her.

She accepted the professional training when she was 6. At that time, she understood that tennis not only brings joy, also includes tears and disappointment.

After hard training after 5 years, her back-hand and forehand skill were highly lethal. Winning team’s champion of Belgium Youth proved she finally never regarded as the footballer’s daughter, but the most promising tennis star.

In Antwerp open, she met Coach Karl Barnes who had enormous influence on her life. During the process of global tour, Barnes was not only the coach, and more like a father. He taught Kim to tidy her room everyday and requested her go to bed on time, also helped to arrange French courses.

She became the youngest Belgian national championships at 15, then joined in Wimbledon finals in juvenile groups and won a champion for doubles. The most memorable was that she got a WTA ranking –number 409.

It was a bittersweet time when she was 16. Because her mother accepted liver transplants operation, fortunately yielded good results. In the tournament, she was defeated by Henning who became her best friend after that. Her first time joined in Wimbledon Top 16 but defeated by her idol Grave. This year, she’s world ranking promoted to 47 and won Belgian best female player award.

Sweetheart Idol

Whose fan are the most lucky ones? Clijsters fans have every reason to vote for a ticket. Their idol is never a stingy person.

In 2006 Antwerp open, Clijsters herself spend 25 thousand euro on organizing “champagne party” to thank for support from her fans during these years. Antwerp sports palace can accommodate 10,000, on that day many types of champagne and each one was $30 was sent to every fan.

“Spending money on the things which make yourself and other people happy, it is the specific purpose.” Her personal website kept updated and her latest news was added here. “They are lovely. I will not get much achievement on today without them.” She also likes football very much and has many idols. She recommends an online store http://www.dinodirect.com/soccer-clothing/ which can buy soccer cloth when watching football games.
