I know you have heard about the fat-burning abilities of water – but there are also other reasons why everyone should start consuming 8 or more 8 to 10 oz glasses of water per day.

The most important reason is this much water consumption itself is a good weight loss program. Water is probably the weight loss rule that is most over-looked and not everyone realizes what it can really do for you – no matter what diet program you are on.

On top of that it is reasonable, safe and is easy to obtain in developed countries.Having no side-effects it’s tastes is also good.It also saves money on non efficient supplements.

Waer is not liked by some people due to it’s taste so they don’t drink enough water.But there are other reasons that someone doubtlessly comes up with a new reason every day.

But I am one skeptic who has seen the plus points.  6 months ago, I could barely walk because of back spasms and knee pain as well as being about 40 lbs overweight.I was also short of breath and just a walk from my apartment to my car was difficult for me.I could hardly make it up the stairs and was totally restless before I could unlock my front door though I live in a second story apartment containing few stairs.So I was nearly homebound.

My blood tests were about the point of diabetes and I was borderline high blood pressure.   And, I was only 58 which by today’s standards really isn’t very old.I had already been adviced by my doctor to work on my weight but as my back hurt I was too weary and I couldn’t breathe. I had acid reflux disease.

Today, I have lost 30 lbs, and almost run up and down the stairs.   Walking to my car is no problem and my blood pressure is good.Acid reflux is not bothering me. My back only hurts infrequently and when it disturbs me it is not the extreme back pain that kept me from walking.Now, I will acknowledge I am not running any races or walking far a day, but I am more forceful than I was in years.

It truly wasn’t that tough to do. I really didn’t change my food except for decreasing my part and still eat chocolate chip mint ice cream.My refrigerator contains low fat or no fat items in place of candy or snacks.I have also reduce my intake of diet drinks with caffeine about half but these changes are not that much of a big deal.

But, I have added water to my daily schedule – as much water as I can drink – and I can’t seem to get enough of it.Dehydration for several years had put my whole body out of whack.  Water – just plain water from my water faucet – not ice cold with a lot of  ice cubes – just water, plain, and unflavored water.

So I am living proof – water is good for weight loss as well as a lot of other good health changes and benefits.
