You Should Be Getting Fitness Tips From These Guys

While everyone has a fitness DVD out there these days, who do you actually listen to when you want to get serious about getting fit? I reckon there is a group of athletes that have fine tuned their fitness to perfection, stay with me to discover who.

What is fitness?

When I think of fitness I conjure up images of super elite olympic athletes and long distance runners. This image of fitness is quiet different to the image of a fighter. When I consider a fighter, I think about big burley guys throwing boxing style punches at one another. However, what do think would happen if you combined the long distance running with a fighter..

Real health and fitness

I believe true fitness is a combination of aerobic conditioning, power, strength and suppleness. Remarkably, the 3 attributes are perfectly combined into one extraordinary discipline called Martial Arts.

Martial arts fitness is probably the single most complete fitness training you will ever see. Not only do top martial artists have exceptional power and speed, they’ll demonstrate these skills for many hours at a time. This is to me is true fitness. Not only are people that practice Martial Arts strong and fit, they are mentally balanced.

The Pro’s

There isn’t any better public type of this level of fitness than the professional fighting sport called Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). Mixed Martial Arts is a mixture of Karate, Grappling, Wrestling, Boxing, Jujitsu and Tae Kwon Do all rolled in one. While people like Bruce Lee may have shone a spot light on this mysterious art, I do think it is the rise and public attention towards the MMA competition that displays just how fit, brutal and powerful fighting styles can be.

It’s really no big surprise the those who practice MMA are top level athletes. However this is not the only benefit they enjoy. Even though many think of martial arts as violent, in the mainstream it is used as self defence. It actually does not encourage violence but teaches people how to control themselves.

Can I learn from these guys?

Without a doubt. You will even find home training programs it is possible to follow to develop your fitness. Home training programs like RushFit can be done within the safety and comfort of your own home. Truth be told what is so nice about this form of training is you don’t need any real equipment to work on your self-defence fitness.

What about the Dojo?

Sure yes, if you want to learn Mixed Martial Arts so you can throw punches and do some kicks then yes you will need to train in a Dojo. However none of that is required if you simple want to get fit.

It’s all about getting super fit

Since you don’t have to know the exact moves, just doing the intense exercise will significantly improve your fitness. You needn’t do perfect blocks, kicks or punches. When you start to follow what these guys eat and their fitness programs you’ll start to understand why their training is so effective. MMA fighters all have powerful fitness programs they follow. They want to build muscle but not to much, they want to be fast, but too thin, they want to powerful not to bulky. It’s this fine balance which makes these guys to be a wonderful model to copy when it comes to elite fitness.

If you want to copy the same style of intense training that the top MMA guys use take a look at RushFit it’s a training program created by Georges St-Pierre a champion MMA fighter. Checkout this no BS RushFit review to learn more.
